KItchen Improvements 2019

Subject to planning permission being granted, the long dreamed of project of upgrading the church kitchen to provide a serving hatch into the Church Hall has taken a significant step forward to becoming a reality.
A special Church Meeting in November 2018 has approved a scheme which is to be largely funded through the generosity of a 'legacy gift' from the funds remaining after the closure of Walmer Baptist's Mother church, Deal (Victoria) Baptist Church.
As well as improving the facilities by providing a commercial standard kitchen, the delivery of meals and the endless rounds of cups of tea and coffee at events and services will be transformed with the serving hatch into the main hall.
Moving forward with this project is a significant step forward in advancing our missional activities - a far cry from the original kitchen provision of 1914 when the then kitchen occupied what is now the accessible toilet.
It is hoped the work will be completed in time for the church's 2019 Flower Festival in June.
