Another Knitting Triumph
Our Knitting Group is called Knitting for the Needy and tries, not just to provide a group for people to come and knit, but also to raise funds for good causes. As work is produced it is stored away; sometimes the garments are sent to help those in need and periodically some are sold to raise money.
This month we held a sale of work in the Church hall on a Saturday morning. It was well attended and Rita (pictured), our 'Chief Knitter,' was pleased to report that on the day £853 was raised. Since then further money (including donations) has come in taking the total to over £1000.
This time the money is going to Hope Now; they are a Christian charity that the Church has supported for many years who work in the Ukraine. You can read more about them at their website here
Our intrepid knitters are still knitting and storing up work for future use. Anyone is welcome to come, other crafts are welcome. If you have never knitted before help is available. They meet on Tuesday afternoons at 2pm.
