Big changes at at Walmer Baptist Church

Those that know the fellowship will know how Pastor Seyan has struggled with serious health problems in recent years.  Recently they have worsened to the point where Seyan has found it necessary to retire on health grounds. Pastor Seyan preached his last sermon as our minister on 29th of August 2021 (pictured above) and has now retired.

 

 

Seyan will still be among us as he has agreed to continue to serve among us as an Elder.  We are also fortunate that The Revd. Helen Matthews, who has been worshipping with us during lockdown, has agreed to be our Moderator.  Our Ministry Assistant will also remain in position to provide practical support to the Church.  Whilst deeply saddened that Seyan has had to step down, we are also aware that we have much to thank God for.
